1. Introduction

Welcome to Minibieb! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Minibieb mobile application and web service ("Service"). By using Minibieb, you agree to these Terms.

Minibieb is a community platform for discovering and sharing information about mini libraries (minibiebs) and tracking your personal reading journey.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Minibieb, you agree to:

• These Terms of Service
• Our Privacy Policy
• Any additional guidelines posted within the app

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

3. Who Can Use Minibieb

You may use Minibieb if you:

• Are at least 16 years old
• Are capable of forming a binding contract
• Are not prohibited from using the Service under applicable law

4. Your Account

4.1 Account Creation

• You may browse Minibieb without an account
• To contribute (add minibiebs, verify locations, track reading), you must create an account
• You must provide accurate information when registering
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account

4.2 Account Security

• Keep your login credentials confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized account access
• You are responsible for all activities under your account

5. User Content

5.1 What is User Content?

"User Content" includes any information you submit to Minibieb:

• Minibieb location information
• Photos
• Descriptions and updates
• Verifications and flags
• Book ratings and reviews
• Reading notes
• Custom shelf names

5.2 Your Ownership

You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting content, you grant Minibieb a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, store, and distribute your content within the Service.

• Your book lists, ratings, and reviews are yours
• You can export your data at any time (see Section 9)
• We will never sell your personal reading data

5.3 Content Standards

You agree NOT to submit content that:

• Is false, misleading, or inaccurate
• Contains spam or unauthorized advertising
• Infringes on intellectual property rights
• Contains personal data of others without consent
• Is offensive, harassing, or threatening
• Promotes illegal activities

5.4 Custom Shelf Names

When creating custom shelves:

• Names must follow our content guidelines
• Avoid offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate names
• We reserve the right to remove shelves violating these guidelines

6. Acceptable Use

You May:

• Browse and search for minibiebs
• Add new minibieb locations
• Verify existing minibieb information
• Share minibieb information with others
• Track your personal reading progress
• Import and export your reading data
• Report inaccurate or problematic content

You May NOT:

• Use the Service for commercial purposes without permission
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service
• Attempt to access accounts or systems without authorization
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
• Create multiple accounts for abusive purposes
• Upload malicious files or code

7. Disclaimers

7.1 Accuracy of Information

• Minibieb information is crowdsourced and may contain errors
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of listings
• A minibieb may have moved, closed, or changed since last verification
• Always verify information in person before relying on it

7.2 Book Information

• Book metadata comes from third-party sources (Open Library, Google Books, ISBNdb, Bol.com)
• We do not guarantee the accuracy of book information
• Cover images are provided for identification purposes only

8. Service Availability

• Minibieb is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
• We may experience downtime for maintenance, updates, or unforeseen technical issues
• We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time
• We will provide reasonable notice before discontinuing core features

9. Premium Subscriptions & Payments

9.1 Subscription Plans

Minibieb offers optional Premium subscriptions with enhanced features. Available plans include monthly, annual, and lifetime options, all priced in Euros (EUR). Monthly and annual subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled.

9.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Mollie B.V., an EU-based, PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment provider. Accepted payment methods include iDEAL, credit card, Bancontact, and other methods supported by Mollie. Minibieb never stores your card numbers or bank details.

9.3 Cancellation

• You may cancel your subscription at any time from your Subscription settings
• After cancellation, you retain access to Premium features until the end of your current billing period
• Your data (books, shelves, reading history) is preserved when you downgrade · premium features are simply locked

9.4 In-App Purchases

Minibieb may offer one-time purchasable items (such as streak shields and streak freezes) available to all users. Once activated, these items are non-refundable. Unused purchased items remain in your account until used or your account is deleted.

9.5 Refund Policy

• Under EU consumer law (Directive 2011/83/EU), you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase for subscriptions.
• To request a refund, email support@minibieb.app within 14 days of purchase.
• Activated in-app purchases (streak shields, freezes) are exempt from the cooling-off period once the digital content has been accessed.

9.6 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' advance notice. Price changes apply to new billing periods only · your current period is unaffected. You may cancel before the new price takes effect.

10. Data Import and Export

10.1 Data Import

Minibieb allows you to import reading history from other services:

• You may import from GoodReads and StoryGraph CSV exports
• You are responsible for the accuracy of imported data
• You must have the right to export data from the original service
• Imported data becomes part of your Minibieb library and is subject to these Terms

10.2 Data Export

You can export your Minibieb data at any time:

• Export is available in JSON format for complete data backup
• Exported data is for personal use and backup purposes
• You retain ownership of your reading data
• We recommend exporting your data before deleting your account

11. Account Termination

11.1 By You

• You may delete your account at any time from Settings
• Important: Export your data before deletion as it cannot be recovered
• Account deletion is processed immediately upon email confirmation
• All personal data is permanently deleted upon account deletion

11.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Engage in abusive or harmful behavior
• Create security risks for the Service or other users

We will provide notice and an opportunity to export your data where possible, except in cases of severe violations.

12. Minibieb Owner Rights

If you own or maintain a minibieb:

• You may claim your minibieb listing by contacting us
• Verified owners can edit their listing information
• You may request removal of your minibieb from the platform
• Removal requests will be processed within 7 days

13. Limitation of Liability

• Minibieb is provided "as is" and "as available"
• We disclaim all warranties, express or implied
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service (which is zero for free users)

14. Affiliate Links & Third-Party Services

14.1 Affiliate Program

When you click "Buy" or "Get it" buttons to find books, you may be directed to third-party retailers. Minibieb participates in affiliate programs:

• Bol.com: Our primary affiliate partner for book purchases in the Netherlands
• We earn a small commission when you make purchases through our links
• This is at no additional cost to you
• These commissions help support the continued development of Minibieb as a free service

14.2 Important Notes

• Affiliate links open in a new window and are subject to the retailer's terms and privacy policy
• We do not control prices, availability, or shipping on third-party sites
• Book recommendations are based on community activity, not paid placements
• You are never obligated to purchase through our affiliate links

15. Revenue & Monetization

Minibieb is supported by:

• Premium subscriptions (see Section 9)
• In-app purchases
• Affiliate commissions from book purchases made through our links
• Community contributions and goodwill

We may display recommendations for books available for purchase. These recommendations are based on community activity and popularity within the minibieb network · they are not paid placements or advertisements.

16. Intellectual Property

16.1 Our Property

• The Minibieb name, logo, and branding are our trademarks
• The Service's design, code, and features are our intellectual property

16.2 Third-Party Content

• Book covers and metadata are provided by Open Library, Google Books, ISBNdb, and Bol.com
• Map data is provided by OpenStreetMap contributors
• Third-party content remains the property of their respective owners

17. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via email (if you have an account) and post a notice in the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the Netherlands.

19. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
