What is a minibieb?
A minibieb (short for "minibibliotheek") is a small, publicly accessible bookcase where anyone can take a book for free or leave one for others. Most are looked after by a neighbour who keeps the shelves tidy and the door closed against the rain. Minibieb is our name for all of them. In the United Kingdom you will mostly hear street library or book swap box. You may also hear book exchange box, public bookcase, boîte à livres, Bücherschrank, straatbieb or Little Free Library®.
Minibieb maps them so you can find the ones near you, keep track of the books you take and leave, and see which boxes other readers have visited recently. Free to use, independent, and built by readers.
Little Free Library® is a registered trademark of Little Free Library, Ltd. Minibieb is not affiliated with them. We just put every one of these bookcases on the map, whatever it is called and wherever you live.
