What is a minibieb?
A minibieb (short for "minibibliotheek") is a small, publicly accessible bookcase where anyone can take a book for free or leave one for others. Most are looked after by a neighbour who keeps the shelves tidy and the door closed against the rain. Minibieb is our name for all of them. In France you will mostly hear boîte à livres or microbibliothèque. You may also hear street library, book exchange box, public bookcase, Bücherschrank, straatbieb or Little Free Library®.
Minibieb maps them so you can find the ones near you, keep track of the books you take and leave, and see which boxes other readers have visited recently. Free to use, independent, and built by readers.
